Energy label and sustainability
Your energy label can affect your maximum mortgage, and going green can give extra borrowing room.

The energy label of a home can affect the maximum mortgage. With an energy-efficient home there can be extra borrowing room based on your income. In addition, under conditions you can borrow extra to make a home more sustainable.
How much extra can be borrowed depends on, among other things:
- the energy label of the home;
- your income;
- the purpose of the additional loan;
- the market value of the home;
- the current lending standards;
- the lender's conditions.
So make sure the energy label and any planned energy-saving measures are included when your maximum mortgage is calculated.
